The McDermott String Trio with Paul Neubauer,viola

The McDermott Trio has been hailed for its "dazzling virtuosity and beautifully integrated ensemble" and is recognized as one of the most exciting trios on the musical scene. Pianist Anne-Marie is an artist member of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, violinist Kerry is a member of the NY Philharmonic, and cellist Maureen is an original member of CELLO. Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center artist member violist, Paul Neubauer, joins the Trio for an enchanted afternoon.

Since their Carnegie Recital Hall debut, they have appeared in recitals throughout North America, Central America and Europe. Highlights of recent seasons include debuts at Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, the 92nd Street Y’s Kaufman Hall, at the Ravinia Festival and their first visit to Mexico as a trio with the Mostly Mozart Festival. The Trio’s 2006/07 season featured concert and recital performances throughout North America.

The McDermott Trio’s radio and television credits include numerous appearances on the NBC and PBS Television Networks, CBS Sunday Morning with Charles Karault, New York’s WQXR, WNYC and National Public Radio’s Performance Today. In addition, they were featured musicians in the MGM motion picture “FAME”.

The McDermott’s have appeared individually and as a trio with the New York Philharmonic, the Montreal Symphony, the Atlanta Symphony, and with the orchestras of St. Louis, Pittsburgh and Baltimore as well as with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. They have also appeared in recitals at Avery Fisher Hall, Alice Tully Hall, at the Mostly Mozart, Newport, Marlboro, Dubrovnik, Caramoor, Santa Fe, Bravo! Colorado, Chamber Music Northwest and Evian Festivals, and the Bargemusic chamber series.

Distinguished alumnae of the Manhattan School of Music, Yale University and Stony Brook University, the McDermott Trio has been coached by members of the Beaux Arts Trio and the Manhattan Trio. The Trio also has the distinction of being called New York City’s “quasi official” trio by former Mayor Koch and has appeared at Gracie Mansion on numerous occasions. Individually, each one of these talented young musicians has won international acclaim for award-winning performances at the International Tchaikovsky Competition, the Montreal Competition and the Young Concert Artists Auditions. Kerry is a member of the New York Philharmonic, Maureen is a member of the group CELLO and Anne-Marie is an artist member of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.

Members of the McDermott Trio can be heard on the Arabesque, Sony, BMG and Melodia recording labels.
